Welcome!

Welcome back to another school year! We are kicking off another great year at Wilson Elementary! We are happy to have our new students, and are excited to get to know each and every one!

Just a few reminders:

  • Make sure you've filled out the paperwork for the school (health form, permit to pick up, playground rules, etc...) and send them all back to your child's teacher ASAP.
  • If you plan to pick up a child through the car pick up line, you must have that child's car tag. Otherwise you will need to park and check them out through the office.
  • If your child's transportation info changes at any time (even if just for one day), please send a note to the teacher and call the office to let them know as well (371-3144).
  • We will be getting into the swing of our regular learning routines soon: please be sure to check folders daily for important information, homework, etc...
  • Don't forget that Popsicle Passes are for sale! $20 for a PASS, or .50 cents per day. The money raised from these goes directly toward our school!
  • Any medication must be taken to the nurse directly from the parent/guardian. Children are not allowed to bring the medication themselves.
  • Read with your child every night! Even just five minutes a night helps instill a love for reading and boosts reading confidence and fluency! Yeah!! :)
We are looking forward to a GREAT year in first grade!!! Check back often for pictures, events, and info!

Parents are welcome to come. You just need to have your own transportation and pay when you get to the theater. Let your child's teacher know if you will be coming!

So don't forget- here's what's needed:
*Permission slip filled out & returned
*$5.00
*Sack lunch

Call our office for questions, or email or send a note to your student's teacher.

A Special Visitor

Mrs. Ryder's class had a special visitor today (Jonah Yates' uncle): TSgt Darren Wells!
TSgt Darren Wells is in the Air Force, and is moving to Japan in a couple of weeks, so we were lucky to have him here to talk to us! He showed us videos of his jet being refueled in mid-air by another carrier, traveling at over 300 mph! The kids learned a lot about his job and they had a great time. Thank you for your service, and for taking the time to come talk with us, TSgt Darren Wells!!!

100th Day of School

Friday, February 7th was our 100th day of school! We did a lot of fun activities! Those who dressed up with 100 items on their clothes, like they were 100 years old, like they did 100 years ago, or who made a poster with 100 items paraded in our hallways for us all to see!

Abigail Jackson shows off her '100' glasses.

Caden Hulsey, Gunner Franklin, and Jonah Yates wore shirts with 100 items on them!
These '100-year-old' ladies are all smiles.

These are some cute elderly women!

Emily Jackson and Rylee Amey dressed as 100-year-old women!

Look at these cuties from Mrs. Vogel's class!

Mrs. Jackson's class made some awesome 100th Day hats!
